Gardens and Washing Cars

We decided to go to Bicton Gardens today.  It's not too far away.  We have passed it several times whilst on the way to other things we have done.  It is part of a college that sits on acres of beautiful property in the Devon countryside.  It is not on either the National Trust or Historic Houses memberships but we decide it is worth 10 pounds to walk around.  The have a train that runs the property too.  We decide we will walk it first and then take the train to see the rest of the property.  There isn't also to tell other than we really enjoyed it.  They have beautiful flowers, lakes, ponds, a beautiful church, swans, ducks and a children's area.  We did take the train ride and it was fun.  The engineer must take the engine from the front to the other end to get us back and that in itself was an interesting process.

Another beautiful sunset...Julia and Charlie's house

Love this weathervane on the roof of our house

She was staring us down

Lots of reflection but the engineer was smiling at us

When we got home, Charlie was outside working and we asked if there was a place we could take the car to get it washed.  It is filthy and we are getting dirty brushing against it getting in and out.  So Charlie first explains that we can do it here in front of the house but then says he will wash it for us.  We got the worst of the load of things we keep in the car out and gave him the keys and 30 minutes later he brings the car back and it looks better than it did when we picked it up.  The car is a Ford Fiesta and had only 11 miles on it when we picked it up at the airport.  Now it has over 900 miles...we have had a busy 10 days.  Well done us and thanks Charlie!

  1. Cool looking gardens. Never would have expected to see a statue of an elephant there.
