Breakfast with Ian McNiece

Last night Kay and I were organizing photos and I made a post on the "Bert Lovers" page about how we met all the people that Ian had recommended and that we saw him on the set the day I fell but didn't get to speak with him.  A few minutes later I got a personal Facebook message ffrom the man himself inviting Kay and I to meet him for breakfast!  He was delightful and his partner Cindy was really enjoyable to talk with.  We were there for almost two hours in this restaurant where people were staring in the windows and hanging around outside once they knew he was in there waiting for us to leave so they could get a photo with him.  It was fun.  After we left them I literally turned around and was face to face with the gal that plays Doc Martin's receptionist...Morwenna.  Her real name is Jessica Ransom and she is adorable.

Kay and I then went to the St. Kews Inn for lunch which was very good but Kay had an unpleasant encounter with a waitress which spoiled the mood.  After we took a drive to Padstow which was a very busy place.  It's Good Friday and a holiday here too so it's busy everywhere.  Padstow is a much larger place than Port Isaac with lots of shops and restaurants.  Some of the industry here serve Port Isaac as well,  We had tea and cake and walked through an art exhibition and headed on to our next destination which was the village of Rock.  Very cute, much newer buildings and homes here so it is a newer community.  There is a ferry here taking foot passengers across the bay to Padstow and we wanted to check it out.  Out next stop was Polzeath.  We thought the tide variance was huge where we are but couldn't believe it here.  This beach was packed with people, most of whom were surfing in wet suits.  Would still be too cold for the average person.  After that we headed back home since we were having dinner at The Mote tonight at "half six" with our new friend Susan Hill, her husband David and her sister in law Katie.  It was really a fun evening as we had a long lesson in the difference between biscuits, digestives, hob obbs I think it was, cookies and shortbread which is none of those.  They had some good fun and we laughed a lot as they tried to explain it all.

This RR was in the parking lot when we got there.
Pristine condition!

I give up...the photos posted all mixed up again.

Tomorrow we are heading to the Lizard Peninsula so it is time to pack it up for the night.

Again well done us and proper job!
